Cheap Trick Unveil Release Plans for 'Bang Zoom Crazy...Hello' LP, Share New Single
Published Jan 22, 2016Power pop greats Cheap Trick made headlines a few years back for fighting against unsafe stage conditions, but now they're back in the news for making more music. The band will release a new album — eccentrically titled Bang Zoom Crazy...Hello — on April 1 through Big Machine Records.
It marks the follow-up to 2009's The Latest, which was released as a novelty in 8-track format, and the group's 17th studio album overall. The new record will arrive exactly one week before the band are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bang Zoom Crazy…Hello was recorded with producer Julian Raymond, featuring Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson and Daxx Neilsen in the official lineup.
The album is prefaced by a new single titled "No Direction Home," which delivers a heaping helping of the guitar riffs and catchy choruses that the band have built their career on. You can hear it here and see the single artwork above.
The band have a pair of upcoming Canadian tour dates, playing Calgary on April 22 and Enoch, AB, on April 23. Following that, they'll embark on an American tour with Heart and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. Find their full itinerary over here.
